		Welcome I’m so glad you decided to drop in.  I’ve created  Finding Community to talk about how we can become more intentional about using the Internet to connect with our fellow man to talk about God.  I think a key reason why we as Christians fail to make better use of the Internet to do ministry is that we tend to view it as a challenge of technology - rather than as a question of how we organize and lead people.

About Finding Community

The purpose of my site is two fold.  First, if you are responsible for leading ministry - either as a pastor, as a ministry staff person, or lay leader, I hope you'll take some time to consider ordering my e-book, Finding Community:  Creating Connections on the Frontier of Online Ministry.  On this site I've provided you with material to preview the e-book so that you can judge whether or not it is something from which you would benefit.  I've tried to do this without a lot of hype - just good, sound information. 

The second purpose is to provide an outlet for me to share articles I've written/will write on the topics of Christian Leadership and Internet communications strategies for Christians.  I’m not a pastor, but I’ve taught adult Sunday School classes for a quarter century, and presently lead a class called “The Truth Seekers” in my local church.  I’ve been the State Director of a politically active pro-family organization; I’ve sold telecommunications services for over ten years. Finally, I teach business management and leadership courses for several colleges – both “in person” and “online.”  It is my prayer that as I share my thoughts via the articles that I've written, you may find them of use in whatever ministry God has blessed you.

So, as you navigate this site, here are some things you may find of interest:

1.    I’ve put in links to some of my other sites, including the one for my novel, The Brotherhood of the Scroll, and my monthly newsletter, Conversations with the Culture.  I’ve also provided a link to my blog.

2.    I’ve provided a few links to some sites I think you’ll find of use..

3.   On the page called “David’s Ditherings” I’ll post a monthly comment on things I’m thinking about, new websites I’m discovering, and ideas for sharing the gospel online.  Additionally, as I create new articles, I’ll post them there as well.
